Opening Doors: Kismet College Tour at NJCU with EOF/OSP

On April 23rd, a group of our Kings—especially juniors and seniors—embarked on an eye-opening journey to New Jersey City University (NJCU), hosted by the university’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) and Office of Student Programs (OSP).

The day began with an engaging workshop led by the OSP team, where students learned about the support services, resources, and opportunities available to help them thrive in college. Throughout the visit, NJCU staff and current OSP students shared advice and insights on admissions, scholarships, academic support, and college life.

Our Kings toured the campus—exploring academic buildings, residence halls, and student spaces—getting a real feel for what life looks like as a college student. They connected directly with current students and staff, gaining encouragement and guidance to prepare for their own college journeys.

As a special touch, each participant received a gift bag as a warm welcome and reminder of the possibilities that lie ahead. The day wrapped up with a delicious lunch, giving our young men a chance to reflect on the experience and enjoy time together as a group.

For many, this was their first time on a college campus, and the experience planted seeds of aspiration and confidence—reminding them that the path to higher education is not just a dream, but a very real, attainable goal.

We’re deeply grateful to NJCU’s EOF and OSP for hosting this meaningful visit and for showing our Kings the support and encouragement they deserve on their journey. At Kismet, we believe that exposure + support = opportunity—and this day was proof of that formula in action.
