More Than the Game: Kismet Students Get an Inside Look at NBA Studios

On April 14, Kismet of Kings students visited NBA Studios in Secaucus, New Jersey, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the media operations that help bring professional basketball to fans around the world.

During the visit, students toured the media warehouse, where historic footage and archival materials are preserved, observed the replay review process that supports NBA game operations, and visited the spaces where NBA players receive media training before stepping in front of cameras. Throughout the tour, students asked thoughtful questions and gained firsthand insight into the work that happens long before and after the final buzzer.

The experience also broadened students' understanding of careers in sports. While many young people dream of becoming professional athletes, the visit demonstrated that the sports industry is powered by professionals in media, broadcasting, production, communications, technology, and operations.
